Fusion & Bluecoats Establish Strategic Partnership

Fusion Winter Guard has announced its strategic partnership with the 2022 DCI Silver Medalist, Bluecoats.  This partnership was formed to further extend musical, visual and performing arts education to even more communities throughout the country.

Earlier this year, Fusion World announced its new design team, including the powerhouse design team from Bluecoats, including artistic director, Jon Vanderkolff and designers Greg Lagola and Jim Moore.   Forming an alliance between the two organizations; one Summer, one Winter, now offers a year-round consistency in both design and arts education.

“Bluecoats’ focus on arts education has been the cornerstone of its effective development of young artists, musicians and performers around the country.  This exciting partnership allows Fusion to enhance its classroom far beyond the performance floor and extends our passion for lifelong learning alongside our Bluecoats family,” said Rob Watson, Executive Director of Fusion Winter Guard.

In addition to its valued curriculum, the two organizations have aligned in a mission to offer more community outreach and youth programming beyond its two world-class organizations.  This winter, Fusion will host a Bluecoats Experience Camp for young color guard students who aspire to join its world class drum and bugle corps.  The event will be held in New Jersey and will feature designers and choreographers from both Fusion World and Bluecoats.

“Fusion Winter Guard is an outstanding organization with a mission that truly fosters the growth and experience of young people. I can’t think of a better partner and look forward to this friendship evolving into new and exciting opportunities for both and our collective community,” said Mike Scott, CEO of Bluecoats.

Fusion Winter Guard and Bluecoats will celebrate their partnership with shared booth space at the 2023 WGI World Championships in Dayton, Ohio.  There, some of the activity’s most spectacular performers can request information about upcoming performance opportunities, clinics and symposiums.

Additionally, Bluecoats will manage Fusion’s merchandise and recruiting table this winter season where you can not only grab trendy branded apparel from both Fusion and Bluecoats, but a portion of all merchandise sales will fund the Fusion Summer Scholarship Fund, which offsets summer tuition to march Bluecoats.

“These are just a few ways our initial partnership will impact our arts community and look forward to developing new clinic events, educational programming and resource sharing,” said Watson.

Auditions for both Fusion World and Bluecoats are now open for the 2023 seasons.  Fusion World is hosting two audition weekends in September and Bluecoats kickoff their 2023 auditions in November.  To learn more, visit:  www.fusionwg.org/audition and www.bluecoats.com/join-2023.
